The share of renewables in total Faroese electricity generation in March 2022 was 68 per cent.
For a total of 10 days, renewable electricity generation exceeded 80 per cent.
Hydro power made up 50 per cent, while wind power and biomass reached 17 per cent and 1 per cent, respectively, of total electricity generation.
While there was an increase in wind power production compared to March of last year, it is predominantly the increase in hydro power production that is significant. Relatively warm weather and heavy rains in March have had a positive impact on renewable electricity generation.
